Horror

Horror fiction, in any medium, is crafted to evoke fear, unsettle, or horrify the audience. Traditionally, the "horror" experience arises from the intrusion of supernatural elements into ordinary human existence. From the 1960s onwards, any work featuring a morbid, gruesome, surreal, or intensely suspenseful or frightening theme is commonly labeled as "horror." This genre frequently intersects with science fiction or fantasy, and these three categories are occasionally grouped under the broader classification of speculative fiction.
